313 Coney

Our Story

Detroit natives Dan and Tonia Gibson, realized that most of their trips back home to Michigan revolved around visiting their favorite restaurants and eating the food they grew up with. At the top of this list was the Detroit Coney dog. While growing up, and then again after having their own children, they would often frequent Lafayette Coney Island after taking in a Red Wings game at the Joe. Ever since they relocated to the Nashville area in 2010, they thought about how they could “Bring the 313 to the 615”, and from that 313 Coney was born.

Growing up in the Detroit area meant that concerts were best seen on the lawn at Pine Knob, Boblo was the place to go in the summer and coney dogs were just another food group {Best enjoyed after a night out!) Also always on hand, were our favorite Better Made chips (Our favorite being the Red Hots!) and various flavors of Faygo pop (Rock N Rye is hands down the best).

Dan is the founder and president of Music City Electric while Tonia is a registered nurse and part owner of a Medspa, Glow Franklin. They have two “adult’ children; Jake, who is employed at Music City Electric and Maggie, who attends the University of Tennessee. They are big sports fans and continue to support their Detroit teams; the Lions, the Tigers, the Wings and of course the Wolverines, but have grown to love and support their Nashville Predators, the Tennessee Titans and also the Tennessee Vols (even though it’s not always easy!)

They are excited to bring a little bit of the ‘D” to Nashville and hope that you all enjoy it as much as they do!
